TESTING HOURS…
  • Class D and Motorcycle: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
  • Commercial: 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
You must be seated at the testing station by the times listed or you will need to return another day.

IDAHO STAR CARD…

The Idaho Transportation Department has a web page that provides a complete list of required and acceptable documents to obtain your Idaho Star Card and comply with the Real ID Act. Click on the following link to go to ITD’s Star Card web page:  If you already have a STAR CARD no documents are required for renewal.

NEW OR RENEWING COMMERCIAL LICENSE/INSTRUCTION PERMIT…

You must provide a valid Passport or Birth Certificate.
You must provide DOT Medical Card if applicable.
If you current name is different than the supporting document, we will also need:

  • A Certified and Recorded Marriage License;
  • A Divorce Decree;
  • and/or Court Ordered Name Change Document.

DRIVER’S TRAINING PERMIT/INSTRUCTION PERMIT…

For Driver’s Training or Instruction Permit you must provide the following:

  • Certified Birth Certificate
  • Social Security Card or Number
  • Picture ID (ie. School ID, Passport, Yearbook)
  • Parent Listed on Birth Certificate with State issued Identification
  • Verification of School (High or Middle) Compliance 
  • Name of Driver’s Training School
  • Picture ID

CONCEALED WEAPON'S LICENSING





NEW/RETURNING TO IDAHO FROM ANOTHER STATE…

You must provide verification of Idaho Residency. Items accepted include:

  • Mortgage Papers;
  • Deed;
  • Utility Bills (No Cell Phone Bills);
  • 1099 or Most Current W-2;
  • Current Pay-Stub with your Physical Address (No PO Box Addresses will be accepted).

You must provide Identification. Supported documentation includes:

  • A Valid Passport or Birth Certificate;
  • Social Security Card;
  • Out-of-State Driver’s License/Identification Card.

If you current name is different than the supporting document, we will also need:

  • A Certified Marriage License;
  • A Divorce Decree;
  • and/or Court Ordered Name Change Document.

REQUEST FOR NAME CHANGE…

Must FIRST be made through the Social Security Administration (may take up to 48 hours to update).
Must provide a Social Security Card with New Name.
Must provide the following additional documentation:

  • A Certified Marriage License;
  • A Divorce Decree;
  • and/or Court Ordered Name Change Document.
